Pritikin Recipes
Will I loose weight if i combine this diet w/ exercise (30 minutes of medium-intensity cardio every day):
Meal #1 (Breakfast): 2 whole scrambled eggs w/ veggies (mushrooms, onion, tomato, spinach, cilantro, etc.), 2 corn tortillas, or kidney beans. -Cooked with EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL, seasoned with salt & pepper.
Meal #2 (Snack): Small bowl of mixed, cut fruit (strawberries, melon, purple grapes)
Meal #3 (Snack): Small bowl of Salad [seasoned w/ lemon & salt] OR veggies [seasoned w/ lemon & salt] (cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, tomato = salad, other veggies consumed include broccoli & spinach)
Meal #4 (Snack): Small bowl of mixed, cut fruit (nectarine, apple, orange)
Meal #5 (Snack): Light & Fit Strawberry Yogurt (80 cal.) w/ handful of raisins + 4 prunes.
Meal #6 (Dinner): HOME COOKED WITH CANOLA OIL: This meal usually includes veggies, white potato, kidney beans & about 3 corn tortillas. Plus, I eat red meat once a week, chicken regularly, and fish occasionally. No junk food (sweets, refined sugars, etc.), bread, or grains, except occasionally I will eat white pasta, white rice, and cheese. I limit dairy consumption to occasional cheese, and daily yogurt.
Is this diet beneficial? Any tips or advice (please)?
Also, how can I incorporate a few occasional "treats" (junk food)?
