Last year, I think it was south beach diet. I noticed that the buzz over that has gone down. what are the popular diets now?

What are some popular diets that one would be able to write a compare-contrast paper about?

I need to write a compare-contrast paper on two popular diets– I was wanting do use Weight Watchers as one, but I can’t decide on the second one.

I want to choose something that is very strict with the food– like nutrysystem or jenny craig.

well, i wanted to do weight watchers becasue you can still eat whatever you want, but you’re watching calories, fat and fiber to create points….

jenny craig food is loaded with salt and so restrictive….

when i went on weight watchers after i had my baby, my diet consisted of coke, twinkies, water and cereal, and i still lost 3 lbs in a week……

Reivew of the South Beach Diet

Many people in recent years have commendet and supported the virtues of the South Beach Diet. Dieters who must curb their carbohydrate intake have found this diet to be very favorable. 

If you wish to omit carbohydrates from your diet, on a short-term basis, and find you can do it easily, then you will probably enjoy this diet plan. The South Beach Diet Plan has pre-made snacks and meals readily available. You can also get updated copies of the book and the cookbook.

A negative for this diet program is in step one, which requires extremely low carbohydrates consumption. Many people may find the South Beach Diet very difficult to stay on as low carb foods seem to rob the body of too much energy. 

This diet choice may be for you if you can use it to make your eating habits and make an entire lifestyle change. Many people can stay with this diet solely if they have to for health reasons, and must avoid carbs almost totally.

There are positive and negatives to each and every diet. Some diets plans are more like a complete lifestyle change-over and mostly this is the way that they should be dealt with. 

A slight con to this diet plan is that in order to eat nuts you must actually count them and stay within the specified limits. Another limiting factor is you must limit carbs for weeks on end, but slowly the diet lets them back a bit at a time. 

There may be less restrictive diets out there that some can try. Talk to your doctor before starting any diet plan and find out which may be the right one for your body to start on.

On a sound note, the South Beach Diet plan might be for you, if you can live with, for health reasons, a choice diet that is very limiting. The meal program, and pre-made meals, beverages and treats available make it easier to find and select what to eat.  

You will have more energy if you are a person who is used to a low carbohydrate diet, and you will feel much better on this plan. They will also feel less hungry, and have reduced their cholesterol, raised their good cholesterol, and lowered their blood pressure. 

Some individuals’ systems may or may not agree with some diets, or meal programs. If you need to you might also check with a dietitian. As far as diet or lifestyle changes go it would be best to discuss what does feel right for you and benefits your body with your dietitian and doctor.
