Pritikin Recipes
Hi! I’m a 13year old male and I want to lose 30 pounds (probably less im thinking more like 20- 25 The 30 is from the results of an online test- all it asked for was my height and weight but i am big boned and muscular). I want to ensure that through this im still healthy so i dont have a rediculous 2 week goal. Because I know I should onle be losing 2 pounds a week so depending on how much weight ia ctualy have to lose im going to be aiming for 8-12 weeks.
What I need is some simple tips…
In a month i start hockey season so im already in physical training but i could still use a few excersise tips
As for food this is my problem. My Dad isnt at home much so hes never there to make me meals. If i ask my mom to make me anything she starts cooking 2 hours after i ask and theres no variety. So because theres no planing and I get no help I plan to make my own meals so i need simple healthy recipes and Tips easy enough for a 13 year old
THX

dont eat fast food.
dont drink soda.
drink LOTS of water. (even if you have to pee like a million times a day)
dont eat "white" things. like pasta and bread.
go for whole wheat things. they arent great at first but you get used to them.
get out and do some physical activity, even just walk for at least 20 minutes a day.
try swimming you get results trust me

Meals – Learn to use a George foreman grill. See if mom or dad will buy you one.
Lean skinless (I know that is the good part) chicken, Talipia, grouper, mahi mahi, salmon, shrimp. All can be cooked on a small grill like the foreman. Sprinkle some black pepper (not too much), garlic powder, Monetary seasoning, Meat Magic, fish magic. The grill should tell you how long to cook the chicken and fish.
Stay away from white bread, pasta, white rice, white potatoes.
Eat some fresh veggies, carrots, broccoli, green beans (steam them in just a little water for about 12 minutes). Longer if not tender.
Mix it up.
You will find you enjoy cooking. Might even have mom and dad asking you to cook. It might even get all of you to sit down together and eat. Bring you closer.
Don’t over eat at one meal. meat about the size of your palm. Try to eat 5 times a day. When you cook something have enough for one or two more meals. Put them in small plastic containers in the fridge. Eat every 3 hours. Keep metabolism even.
See if your parents will buy you the P90X workout. You can get them on EBay. Do the workouts. Do what you can, take breaks as needed. In 12 weeks you will be stronger, faster and ready for hockey season.
Ummm I think you are fine. You are still growing and probably going to thin out as you get taller. I wouldnt worry about it right now.
Ok one dont eat dinner! U shud have small snacks everyday at least 2-3 hours apart never a big meal. Then u need to consume less calories then u burn off during running or cardio activities. So i suggest eating small things like peanuts, bread, fruit, veggies. Then an hour or so later do ur cardio then wait and eat sum fruit. Also u need to keep ur body in shape while u workout cuz u dont want to lose weight and look to skinny so i suggest doing pushups, situps, chinups, go 2 a gym at ur school and start workin out with friends and such. Im 15 and i was 5’8 with 140 now a month later im now 130 and have a 6 pack u just need to keep to ur goal or its not worth it.
