Hi! I’m low-carbing it and am in the Induction phase of Atkins. I’ve been eating 10-15 carbs a day. Need to lose 10 pounds. I was wondering how much I should restrict calories? I’m eating about 1200.

And is diet soda okay?

Easy 10 pts!

My question again was about atkins diet and there have been some great answers

You should be eating 20 carbs a day in the beginning. You still lose weight. The first time I did atkins I lost 14 pounds the first two weeks on 20 carbs.

not sure about the cals though, dont think they matter.

    Not important at all!

Just make sure you are not eating carbs the way you are doing! I jsut started on monday THIS week and I have already lost FIVE LBS! I am so happy lol..

Anyways, as far as diet soda, I bought the book and yes you can drink it. there are not any carbs in it. Just make sure to read labels and ONLY focus on carbs..

I used to calorie count and it is hard getting used to atkins since you can eat as many calories as you want!!! I thought I screwed up the diet monday cuz I kept pigging out on meats & cheeses – BIG TIME – and I still lost weight.. Crazy!

    Good luck to you! =)
