So I live in the dorms, I’m a poor college student. I’m trying to lose weight but am having a unsuccessful time at it. I have PCOS which makes it rally hard to lose weight. I read that reducing your carb intake helps so I decided to give it a try. I have a microwave and frig. What are some tips or foods that are easy to cook?
My question again was about diet cooking tips and there have been some great answers

The trick is, it is always best to eat fresh, raw, out-of-the-ground carbohydrate foods that are not highly processed. Usually this is quite easy to tell. If a food is smooth and white and looks like it’s been made using the latest scientific technology, it is probably highly processed. If it is rougher, and closer to the source ingredients from which it is made, it is highly likely that it is better for you.
Get use to eating raw, fresh carbohydrates and eat them more often than you eat fatty foods. By doing this, you are not only helping your body to burn more fat, but you will experience a healthier, more uplifting life with less health challenges. Get used to some stir fries! Yum
There is this great program I have just read, written by a professional athlete, OK he is a bodybuilder. But the bulk of his literature is on diet and nutrition. These guys know what they are talking about, as it is not only gym time they have to be disciplined about, but also nutrition and the correct food groups. Check it out at

Since the principal features of PCOS are weight problems, lack of regular ovulation and/or menstruation, and excessive amounts or effects of androgenic (masculinizing) hormones you will need to work harder than someone without PCOS. The symptoms and severity of the syndrome vary greatly among women. While the causes are unknown, insulin resistance, diabetes, and obesity are all strongly correlated with PCOS.
I also am dealing with PCOS. You don’t necessarily need a low carb diet. You will need to find the right balance between exercise & eating well. The earlier you learn to get off "diets" and just learn to make eating healthy a lifestyle, the better off you will be.
