There seem to be a lot of trendy diets, but one that comes to my mind (from my time living in Japan) that would easily work but it not very popular is eating a traditional Japanese diet, full of variety with vegetables, fish, rice, fruits, soups, meats, noodles, teas, light dishes, etc.

Perhaps I am biased, because I am hooked on Japanese food ever since my time there – it is by far my favorite cuisine (delicious and healthy)…but doesn’t this balanced, low fat, low sugar diet seem to make more sense the many trendy diets out there??

My question again was about popular diets and there have been some great answers

well i am japanese and i lived most of my life in japan…and then i moved to america i relized that people here like fatty food like salt and grease they havent really had japanese food becuse it has nothing bad for you in it and they crave fatty foods….if people tried it i think they would end up on the"japanese diet" and they would lose weight and live longer

Because Japanese food doesn’t taste good. Americans are all about what feels and tastes good.
