I really need some tips on loosing weight. I do weigh a lot for my height, but I dont look like I weight what I do. Still, I would like to loose about 20 lbs for now. I’m wondering if anyone could give me some good weight loss tips. I dont believe in dieting, but rather realistic lifestyle changes. Like eating healthier without depriving myself and still being about to eat the things I like in moderation. Is there a certain number of calories to consume in a day? I also would like some exercise ideas I could do at home. I hate the gym and with school I dont have time to go to one or the money. Any tips would be great…thanks.

If weight loss is all about reducing calories and exercising, why not starve yourself?

Everyone seems to say the same thing about weight loss; reduce calories, exercise more. Then why not starve yourself? Then there is NO calories. Wouldn’t that make the most sense? Wouldn’t the body use up its fat reserves quicker?

I need to lose about 50-60 lbs. I’m 5’5" and currently weigh 185lbs. I’ve put on a lot of it because I have back problems and couldn’t do a whole lot plus I quit smoking and gained some from that to. I have 5 kids so getting to the gym or cooking some weird diet dinner just is not feasible. Any advice or tips will be totally appreciated. Thanks!!
I really have no clue about calories. What’s a good place to find a calorie chart? I cook fairly healthy for my fam, lots of veggies, nothing EVER fried, good rounded meals.

I really need some good, healthy recipes to cook. Or even just some good ideas of pre-packaged foods or snacks that are low calorie and filling. I am trying to stay under 1000 calories a day.

Typical Day:

Breakfast – Honey nut cheerios
Lunch – Fat free yogurt and handful of blueberries
Snack – 3 pieces of melba toast and one laughing cow cheese wedge
Dinner – Lean Cuisine (I only buy ones that are under 280 calories)

I really want some variety – maybe someone has some great tips or advice for me?

I already know exercise, I walk to and from work every single day (partially because of gas prices). But any food tips or recipes to cook would be so appreciated. Any good, healthy snack ideas (unusual ones) would be so helpful. Thanks!

When will the scale start to show your weight loss?

My sister is on a VLCD looking to lose weight and she’s been on it for 3 days now, eating between 550 and 750 calories a day. And she’s freaking out because her weight loss isn’t showing on the scale, but she feel like she’s lost weight… I don’t think she LOOKS like she’s lost any weight, but I may be wrong.

of the sugar substuites which is best and why? I am not diabetic but looking for ways to cut calories out of my diet. I’ve heard that Stevia is the best. Splenda is the most popular right now. Why is it so hard to lose belly fat after 40? I can’t stand having a pooch and I miss my tiny little waistline! Yes I’m sure a little of it is metabolism, because I don’t have time to be as active as I used to, so 25 lbs crept on on me during my late 30′s. So I’ve been working out since January (New Years Resolution) I use my treadmill and some aerobic DVD’s almost daily. On the week-ends I do yard work, I go bike riding and stay in motion.. I try to eat between 1,000 -1,200 calories a day; I’ve cut out fast foods, cokes, sweets and reduced my carbs. So why has it taken me 9 months to lose 10 measly pounds? It’s so frustrating! I used to have such a cute figure! But I still seem "thick" in the middle and seeing myself from the side-view is gross! I can’t lose the gut no matter how many sit ups, push ups, squats, fat-burning I can fit into a day. Urgh! I see other women who are my age but they look so thin how do they do it??? I literally hate wearing jeans anymore because they’re all low-rise which means I have an unsightly roll hanging over the top. I’m not ready to look like a middle aged woman but my body is fighting me! What should I do?….
