<p>I&#8217;m an omnivore, my husband is a carnivore (he doesn&#8217;t like fish and won&#8217;t eat anything green) and next week we are adding a vegetarian to the mix as our friend moves in.  There&#8217;s no moral issue here; none of us want to force our diet on the others. I&#8217;m the cook of the family and have NO problem making veggies, but since we&#8217;ll be living together for the next few years, I&#8217;m looking for ways to make it work without making two complete separate meals every single day, yet keeping things nutritionally balanced for our vegetarian friend.  She eats fish, eggs, and dairy; no red meat or poultry.</p>
<p>I plan to have two nights a week that are vegetarian (husband will deal), but we&#8217;d like to have meat on the other nights. Any suggestions for meals that can be easily adapted to have or not-have meat, like spaghetti where I can remove her portion before adding the meat to ours?  Any tips from others who&#8217;ve been in a similar situation?</p>
<p>Making her cook all her own meals every day isn&#8217;t, to my mind, an option.  I love to cook and just want to find a way to have it not be TOO exhausting every night!  Also, breakfasts are pretty easy (cereal, bagel, pancakes etc) but what should I plan for lunches? She WILL be fending for herself for those but I don&#8217;t know what stuff to keep in the house for her for lunch (I do the shopping, too). She doesn&#8217;t enjoy cooking.<br />
I couldn&#8217;t care less what label you want to put on her, I just want to make things she will enjoy while still making things we&#8217;ll enjoy as well.  You know, looking down on someone because they don&#8217;t eat the way you do is just as bad if you&#8217;re vegan as it is if you&#8217;re a meat eater.<br />
And you&#8217;re right, I misspoke in calling my husband a carnivore, he does eat pasta and potatoes with his meat.  I&#8217;ve got a LITTLE bit to work with there! Still&#8230;<br />

<p>I don&#8217;t like cooking or doing dishes much. For the last six months, I am on a mostly-fruit diet. I eat fruits for breakfast, and snacks. I have a big smoothie of fruits for lunch. But at night time I crave cooked food, and have regular food. Can anyone give me tips on some simple raw vegan recipes for night time, that doesn&#8217;t require elaborate recipes.</p>
<p>Any good salad or wraps thats easy to make and filling (and tasty)? Also I am considering buying a juice extractor, they seem pretty expensive, but am spending well over 0 at jamba juice every month, so may be a worthy investment? any thoughts on that?</p>

<p>I never have groceries in my house because neither my husband of myself can cook. I end up eating McDonalds in my car everyday because its quick, easy, and cheap. I hate it. The food is gross and it makes me feel sick after I eat it. I want to lose weight. I go to school and I work so eating out is the norm for me. I hate it and want to change. Any tips on quick, easy cooking (some things say quick and easy and they are not and I end up ruining them) taste doesn&#8217;t really matter too much. I know that people go on diets and eat chicken breasts but I can&#8217;t even cook those right. It always turns out too dry and I end up making a huge mess. I don&#8217;t know what to do, but I am TIRED of eating McDonalds. I think that fast food should be banned altogether. It can&#8217;t be good for anyone and I know other people who do the same thing I do.<br />
I also was just diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. I don&#8217;t want to cook fatty meals either. Maybe I&#8217;ll take a cooking class at the community center. Thanks for the advice.<br />

<p>I don&#8217;t like cooking and don&#8217;t like doing dishes (too busy and lazy for that)&#8230;also I don&#8217;t like milk and milk products either. So am thinking of the raw vegan diet. </p>
<p>I am almost vegan now. I eat fruits for breakfast, fruits for snacks, fruit smoothies for lunch. Evening I have a slice of bread with peanut butter, and some carrot juice. My only problem is dinner&#8230;.i eat a cooked meal for dinner.</p>
<p>Can someone give me some tips for  raw vegan dinner, that doesn&#8217;t take much time to prepare? I am thinking of salad, but I am wondering if there will be enough protein in a salad. I don&#8217;t need much, currently am taking like 10-20 grams of protien a day (which is enough for me). So if someone can recommend an easy to make raw vegan dinner, that would help me out greatly (No more cooking&#8230;yay)</p>

<p>I have been married almost a year to a man with an incredibly fast metabolism. He recently got a new job working 12 or so hours a day.  His job is physically demanding so he is usually very hungry when he comes home. I love cooking for him, and I make him hearty meals. </p>
<p>Now the problem&#8230;<br />
Before we were married I was able to stick to a pretty restrictive and healthy diet that allowed me to keep my extra weight off. (I struggled with my weight years ago.) Now that I am married I cook heartier meals and we have food around I never would have eaten before. I have gained nearly ten pounds, and I don&#8217;t want to gain more. Ideally I would lose what I&#8217;ve gained. </p>
<p>We have very different needs as far as quantity, and I know I should work on portion control. </p>
<p> I am looking for some good, practical tips to help me keep from gaining more without making my husband suffer.<br />
<br /> My question again was about diet cooking tips and there have been some great answers</p>

<p>I have a pretty hearty appetite and I&#8217;ve been trying to lose weight, and the appetite has made it more of a challenge for me. I have read up on using certain foods to help you feel fuller longer, like brown rice, oatmeal, eggs, apples, etc. Or just simply foods that are grainy with high fiber, high protein, and high water content. I&#8217;ve noticed that I actually get hungrier faster when I eat these foods than when I eat high fat foods that are junk. For example, I&#8217;ll eat a McDonalds breakfast meal and be full for hours after. I&#8217;ll eat a bowl of plain oatmeal, two eggs cooked with olive oil, and an apple and be hungry in an hour and a half. Why is this if these foods are better for me than the McDonalds and the good food is high fiber and high protein?<br />

<p>ok please read all this.i did lose weight cause i used to be a couch potato and now for 7 months i play basketball my favorite sport like i would say 3 hours a day 4 out of 7 days of the week , and my usual daily intake is i go to school at 8 but before i eat some ceareal with juice or i eat a burger with coke and at 12 i eat a chicken burger with chocolate milk and fries . and when i get home at 8 i eat a meal i would say a good portion of whatever my mother cooks.</p>
<p>well i have i would say a close 4 pack and want a six pack bit i have some extra fat on my ribs and stomache and chest. well after tellin u my life basically lol</p>
<p>what changes should i make to lose that weight. im 15 and 5;9 and weigh 148 and should i just stop drinking cokes and at lunch there is water and fruits there so do i stop eating the greasy stuff and fruits?</p>
<p>please tell me some changes to my diet i can have to lose those pounds so i can have my sexy 6 pack haha =]]<br />

<p>Ok, I just turned 18 and I weigh about 185lbs, I am about 5&#8217;6-5&#8217;7. I started gaining weight about a year ago I went from about a very healthy 145lbs to this. Then I was a very sexy and thick..now I&#8217;m just thick. Instead of hips I now have love handles and a pooch..I wear like size 13-15 in jeans mainly because of my love handles. I want to get down to my recommended size (about 150) in about 3-6 months and mainly loose these love handles I would also like to loose some breast mass maybe a cup size? I don&#8217;t even know if I can do that. I eat way too many starches. I just got a gym membership and I really just need some cooking and exercise tips. Good meals/workouts things like that..also, I am Italian so I just can&#8217;t cut out pasta&#8230;</p>
