I have been trying to get back into shape and eat healthier, but money has been really tight lately and I can’t afford to always by fresh fruits and veggies, and other expensive health foods. All i have been eating lately is pasta, hamburger helpers, canned food, pizza, cereal, and basically anything easy and cheap. It is not a very healthy diet and it make it hard to lose Weight, and I probably do not get any nutrients from this current diet. I would like to know if anyone has any tips on how to improve my diet without going broke. I usually cook for two.

I just inherited her a few days ago. She spent 9 days in the house alone before anybody found her and she lost 20lb. But she is still over weight. Her owner fed her a lot of people food, and I’m have problems feeding her dog food. She can’t seem to eat kibble, and she won’t eat most wet foods. I want her to have a healthy diet so I’m going to start cooking her meat and veggies. Any tips on which would be the best for her, or any vitamins I should be adding into the food?
She has joint problems(we have medications for that) and has very weak legs. Can’t stand up on her own, but once she is up she can walk. I’ve been taking her on short walks and she’s been improving, I don’t have to lift her up the step to the house any more. And on top of that she has skin problems. She’ll bites at one spot specifically and it’s balled from it. I want to make sure she is happy and healthy.

Why Are These Diet/Fitness Myths So Popular ?
July 31st, 2010
admin Pritikin Recipes
How come more people are familiar with the myths than truth? How come the Atkin’s diet is actually considered good? How come it is so popular that low weights and high reps actually tones you? How come I get thumbs-downs for the truth??? I’m pretty annoyed, that’s why I’m asking…
Oh, of course, the ever popular myth, "eating after 7 p.m. makes you gain weight".
Lol Pat xD.
Folladj – Yes, low weights, high reps are a myth, they only increase endurance and completely fatigue slow-twitch muscle fibers.
As for pilates, the only way to reduce bodyfat (or tone) is through cardio, and most importantly a healthy diet. If the diet is healthy enough and low-calorie, you can usually get away with bad exercise in reducing bodyfat.
Also, those people may have done cardio, or already started off with a good amount of muscle, which helps burn bodyfat.

Is fasting for just 24-36 hours for detoxification effective?
July 30th, 2010
admin Pritikin Recipes
I maintain a healthy diet already, but I feel like my body could use a little cleansing. I’d like to start out with a manageable fast because I know my belly is going to be rumbling after the first 6 hours, so any suggestions? I was also thinking of making it a juice fast, but what juices are recommended?
My goals for this fast are for detoxing, not for weight loss.
