I’m a 15 yrs old male, 5’11, and weigh about 170. Although I don’t look fat, I don’t feel comfortable with this weight. I currently weight lift in my basement and just recently started to jump rope. When it’s warmer outside I’ll start running too. My mom usually cooks healthy meals, but she gives me a rather large proportion. She insists that I should eat a lot but what she feeds me is sometimes ridiculous. Does anyone have any dieting tips or exercise plans for me?

Okay, so my Mom says that I’m fat and if I don’t slim down by next year she is going to send me to Military school and let THEM slim me down. I tried to tell her that if I am fat it’s her fault because she never cooks anything healthy. She says that I should have some self control and not eat what I know isn’t good for me. The problem is she never buys healthy food at all and I don’t have the money to buy it myself. The menu for a normal day is usually Sugary cereal for breakfast, Or scrambled eggs and bacon, Sandwich and chips, or leftovers for lunch, and Hamburger helper, pizza or cheeseburgers for supper. She refuses to buy salad and the only vegetable she will get is corn.
So how can I possibly lose weight when this is what she feeds me?? Also I can’t really go out and walk because my Mom says it is not safe for a girl to be out walking by herself and my brothers will never walk with me. What are some easy exercises and dieting tips I can use to lose weight???

I am doing my dissertation for my Masters degree so PLEASE don’t send me any nasty comments. My focus has to do with how many Men depend on their parents, then breaking it down to: taken care of by Mom or Dad. The second part is How many Woman (over 40) depend on their parents, and again, for women it is usually Dad who takes care of them, but some have Moms who do. Usually, it seems, Men get taken care of by Mommy’s and Woman get cared for by Daddy’s.

I just want to know if there is actually any one who fits these profiles. ALL ANSWERS will be kept confidential. I would love the most information you are willing to share with me.

Okay, so I’m 15, 5′ 4" and I weight 230 pounds. I’ve tried the Atkins diet, yeah didnt work. I tried doing it on my own and I cheated and couldn’t get back into the routine of exercising. At my house I have a manual tredmill, 2 five pound weights, a wheelie, and resistance bands.
I know what to do and what to eat I guess I just need the willpower and motivation. Does anybody have any tips.
This has really been bothering me lately, especially since I started High School. Like everyone I want to be accepted and popular but that’s just not gonna happen because of how shallow other people are when it comes to weight.
Also I recently found out that My Father has dieabetes, as well as my mom.
Does anyone have any specific exercises and routines that I could do without having to go to a gym or anything., just usuing my tredmill, wheelie, weights and resistance bands.
Any chat rooms involving people with the same problem would be EXTREMELY helpful.

I’ve been allergic to seafood my whole life, when I eat I get really sick. Well my boyfriend absolutely loves it; it is by far his favorite food. We live in Alaska so the freezer is always full of salmon, halibut, trout, and rockfish. Here’s the problem I do all of the cooking (cause I love to cook), and he never, ever complains that I don’t cook fish, but I know he misses it, cause when I attempt to cook (and fail miserably) he praises all of my failed efforts. I’m the kind of cook that I don’t measure anything I do everything by taste and smell, and I can’t cook fish because I can’t taste it. I would love to start reintroducing fish into his diet so I’m looking for some bomb proof but super good recipes, or just some tips on how to cook the water critters can anyone help me?
It is not just fish it is any seafood I get sick off of. I don’t get sick from touching it, I can consume very small amounts (very very small) with out getting ill, but pretty much anything bigger then a quarter will make me ill. My brother is the same way, yes shellfish is a common allergy mine is less common but people do have it.

He doesn’t cook his own fish because I do all of the cooking in the house, I love to cook; my mom and I actually use to have our own catering service, so I do know a lot about sanitation, well wait I would say more then most people. Too me there is little better then the look of pleasure on someone’s face when they are eating something I made just for them. I love it, that’s why I want to cook the fish, and do it well.

I’m getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday and all I can consume is liquid . So I figured , what better time than now to try the Master Cleanse (it’s also called the lemonade diet) ? I plan to start Wednesday and continue until Monday or Tuesday . My only problem is that I have to take pain pills and antibiotics . My Mom says I have to eat before I take the pills . Do I really have to ? Is this a bad time to start ?

Ok, so my diet isn’t an "unhealthy" one, I don’t eat much fast food, and I don’t eat much meat. What I am pretty much asking for is suggestions on shopping, good recipes and good ways to make different healthy foods. I don’t feel like I am getting the proper nutrients from the food that I am making now.

My biggest problem is not knowing what to buy at the store to incorporate into a meal….what are some good staples?

The reason I am having such a hard time with this is because when I was growing up, every meal consisted of meat as the main course, and potatoes as a side dish…My diet now leans more towards vegetarianism, but I do eat fish and "poultry on occasion" and I mostly only eat meat if I eat out.

I rarely cook with meat so pretty much, grocery shopping and my diet are so much different than the one my mom taught me that I am totally lost as to how to go about it….any suggestions?
I am posting this again, just in a different section, I didn’t really get the answers I was looking for in the diet and fitness section…I want to make this more clear. I am looking for recipes, or even just suggestions on foods to make, using healthy products. I’m thirteen and have been a vegitarian for about a year. I want to become a vegan, but my diet lately has been going down hill. I’ve been eating mc.donalds for breakfast bread and a cookie for lunch and taco-bell for dinner. My mom does not cook, so I need things that are pre-packed or easy to pepare, or even fresh.I’m not picky.What shall I buy and do you have any diet tips?
