I am just starting the Atkins diet & didnt see them listed in any catagory of the foods you can & cant have; but noticed the As Required catagory list mostly consists of vegetables…. but I looked at the jar & they dont have carbs. So which does Pickles fall under?

I eat all the right foods already. I cook w/olive oil, whole wheat bread, eat vegetables and fruit, and drink plenty of water. I don’t enjoy junkfood much, almost never but I’ve been stuck home for the past 6 mo. after my last baby and I don’t exercise. I have 3 babies (4, 3, and 6 mo.) and I’m very occupied w/my kids especially during the seasonal changes because 2 of my babies have asthma and I know I haven’t focused on myself. I was able to loose the weight from both of my other babies but these 20 lbs just seem to be very stubborn. What is the average weekly/monthly weight loss from walking 1/2 hr. every day w/out changing your diet? Any other exercise or daily routine tips are welcomed as well. Thank you in advance! By the way, my last birth was a c-section, the other were normal. Does this have to do with the stubborn weight issue?

Trendy diets – why hasn't the "Japanese diet" been tried much in the US for weight loss?

There seem to be a lot of trendy diets, but one that comes to my mind (from my time living in Japan) that would easily work but it not very popular is eating a traditional Japanese diet, full of variety with vegetables, fish, rice, fruits, soups, meats, noodles, teas, light dishes, etc.

Perhaps I am biased, because I am hooked on Japanese food ever since my time there – it is by far my favorite cuisine (delicious and healthy)…but doesn’t this balanced, low fat, low sugar diet seem to make more sense the many trendy diets out there??

I love to cook Italian, Asian, and various other European style dishes. As a chef, how can I help make the experience for the eater to be "less gassy?" I love my cooking, but I still tend to get too much gas from my dishes. What tips are there in reducing flatulation in nicely prepared dishes?

What causes flatulation in diet and how can I prevent this????
Thanks for the tips but my question isn’t being answered. I understand what causes gas and I personally do not have a gas problem moreso than others. My question relates to the preparation of food to reduce the chances of people getting gas.

I eat some cooking and I feel great, but other’s cooking leads to gas.

Is it soaking the vegetables such as onions, garlic in cold water and rinsing off the water? Can foods be paired in a way to reduce the effects of gas?

The question is about cooking and preparing food, not about why anyone gets gas. Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for the initial response. The first 7 questions address the overall cause and medicinal cures for gas. That’s ok, but I’m interested in preventative food preparation.

Who is for and who is against weight loss pills? I`m doing some sort of a survey among you people so I can decide whether I will take some weight loss pills in order to lose almost 30 pounds or not. If you don`t agree to weight loss drugs, what else besides eating vegetables do you suggest?

Hi. I need to change my diet. My mom hates cooking. I wouldn’t mind but I don’t know how and she won’t teach me. She doesn’t make healthy, balanced meals and the few times that she prepares vegetables, they taste horrid and I’ve developed a strong dislike to anything that’s green and edible. :-P

I need a few tasty recipes for preparing vegetables. I would also appreciate tips on how to prepare them so they don’t lose flavour and taste like rubber.

I snack on unhealthy foods like crisps and cookies, I’m also looking for alternatives: healthy and tasty snacks.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. :-)
