I have a really, really important audition for a ballet lined up in a week and a half. The casting director (who happens to be an acquaintance of mine) says I have a great chance at getting the part if I drop about 5-10 pounds by then. I know fad diets aren’t really the best idea, but even if I exercise like crazy and cut my calories more than I already have I still won’t lose that much weight on time. I thought about going on a seafood diet, but eating too much seafood will make me sick. Anyone have any ideas? Did I emphasis just how incredibly important this job is to my ballet career???
My question again was about popular diets and there have been some great answers

Anything you could do to lose that much weight that quickly will likely also make you too weak to audition well.
Cabbage water!
seafood diet–you see food, you eat it!
iceberg lettuce with oil and vinegar only, no salad dressing….. plain rice cakes for dessert.. and only water to drink… don’t drink too much water as that will add a lot of water weight… if you get hungary just sleep if you can. ALSO you could just do what wrestlers and mma fighters do: just go to the sauna the night before and drop the water weight….
Try joining weight watchers (I lost 5 lbs my first week). It’s a great way to lose weight and keep it off because you are losing weight in a healthy way. Fad diets promote quick weight loss but quick is not necessarily good. Dropping 5-10 pounds in a week and a half is unhealthy though. I think it is unrealistic to lose that much weight in such a short time, especially if you are already thin because it will take longer to lose even more since you are closer to your body’s natural set point.
