I recently lost a lot of weight. I do an hour of cardio a day and some wights for toning as instructed by a trainer at my gym. I also want to know how many days a week I should go. I am looking for something that will have great results since I am at a plateau for my weight loss.

My question again was about weight loss and there have been some great answers

The best thing I have found for toning is two day per week of Ashtanga Yoga and two days per week of pilates! Ashtanga, however is NOT for beginners, so make sure you take care if you do it. Another avenue for you could be Bikram, or "Hot Yoga". It’s a very active yoga done is a hot room.

plateauing happens usually because your body adapts to whatever you are doing. try doing more weight training exercises and varying with heavy weight/low reps and low weight/high reps every once in awhile to keep your body guessing. do weight training maybe 3-4 days a week and reduce cardio to maybe to 1-2 days in between weight train sessions and see how that works.

i don’t really know about yoga but i doubt it is better than an hour of cardio/weight training.
